I am wriing you regarding a post you made related to the 991.1 rear license plate mounting issue (screws stripping out). You quote is listed below.

"The rear license plate mounting was borderline ghetto. I drilled and tapped for machine screws, because I hate cheesy sheet metal screws."

I completely agree, being an engineer (albeit electrical engineer). I have dealt with issue like this before on a few GTI's that I owned by using jack nuts / rivnuts for a more robust, resuable mounting solution. However, the raised/embossed rectangle where the holes are drilled and plate is mounted posses a challenge to that method.

Would you mind telling me what type of threaded insert you selected and installed? I'd like a longer term solution than just increasing the screw size.

Hi, I am installing this tomorrow and am a little wary of the vacuum tube install. You mention you have a diagram that shows how it should be set up? IF you should share that I would really appreciate it,
