    Loren,

Could you please send me some info or point me to info on the upgrade from a 1985 DME > 1989 DME? What parts are needed, where to get them, instructions.

    Thank you!

Thanks for the common issues relating to my cruise control not working. Is there a logical progression to follow while troubleshooting? Also, any fuses to check? I don't want to be a pain in the ass. I would like to start with the simplest things first, before I start replacing cruise control or E.C.U. components. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    Hello Loren,

I've started a thread about 964 hall sensor issue I have, and I know you know a lot of stuff about this. I'd love if you could go check it out and give me your opinion if you have time...

    Hi Loren,

Looking through the Forums you seem to be the go-to guy. I'm looking at an auction for a damaged 1983/4 3.2 911. And I have no experience with Porsches (I'm 23 and can't afford to buy a nice good condition porsche)

And just wanted to know a bit more about it. About what you'd go-to bidding (I'm thinking 10,000 AUD tops) and how much you think it'd cost to repair (worst case). I understand the body work side and should get out of that for a few grand.

but mechanically I have no idea what parts are worth. Thus far I know that the engine runs pretty well, but does not drive due to the impact on the side. As such I'd put parts down to lhs suspension items, trans axles and worst case new transmission.

The signal is a square ware with a 0 to 12 volt level.

    Hi Loren,

I have seen your numerous posts and you seem to be the guy 'in the know' on the electronics on these cars. Do you know what the signal level is for the tachometer signal that comes from pin-6 of the DME and goes to the tach-input on pin-7 (KL). I'm guessing this is 5Vpp signal, but guessing can get one in trouble and thought you might know better. Reason I ask is that I make a little tachometer adapter (www.AshlockTech.com) for guys that substitute tachs/engines/ignition systems. Typically this is used for the early tachometers that I'm very familiar with, but a guy recently questioned me as to whether it could drive a 993 tachometer and I don't have one of those to test with. Please respond direct to my e-mail if possible as I don't frequent this rennlist site that often. Thanks ... Bob@AshlockTech.com
