Hello, I wanted to ask your permission to use your photo of your shock tower failure for a video I am making.

    Hi there.
I've been following the 4.5l gt4 discussion and saw the post listing your GT4 for sale. I since saw that Joe has passed away I'm so sorry for your loss. He sounded like an amazing guy.

I was curious if the car is still for sale? I am located in southern california and am interested in buying. If available, you can send me an email at tjh949 at gmail.

    Thanks
    Travis

Yow! Why the sale? Unhappy for any reason?

I just sold my GT4... Going to SSP for now in the Viper ACR Extreme, and will do some big track time trials in it. Hoping the ACR gets classed in SS too. I don't think it will be an over dog in SS AutoCross. Big and heavy.

    Joe,

Setting up the GT4 for AutoX.
    1. Lower car 3 to 6 turns from factory height.
    2. put 8mm shim in front LCA and set front Camber to -2.7 with 0 toe to 1/8 out
    3. Max rear camber and set toe to 3mm in per side (6mm total)
    4. On stock wheels -- add a 5mm spacer in front (Porsche spacer and longer bolts) -- helps get rid of the final bit of push.
    5. Set Sway bars to -- front in Middle and Rear Full Stiff

Tires -- Michelin seem faster (about 1 second on a 60 second course).
Michelin PSC2: Adjust within the range. A little more bite can be achieved at 33 with a little worse wear...
    Front 33 to 35
    Rear 33 to 35

    Dunlops
    Front 29 to 30
    Rear 30 to 31

I track so PCCBs are a non issue for me. Expensive hype IMHO and definitely not worth anything on resell, per RL posts, compared to what SAs claim in the initial order git-go.

Hi exMB, it seems you have a lot of valuable experience, so I ask... I am a GT4 waiter, a rabid autocrosser, and my SCCA rules allow a 1" downsized wheel, up to 0.25" offset change, and no width change at all. If you needed 19x8.5 and 19x11 wheels to fit the GT4, where would you go? I'm reading the 18 or 19 thread...
    Thanks for your time,
    Joe

For wheels I would look at companies that do custom offsets: like Forgeline, Finspeed etc. I would stay away from companies that tell you they have something but then only have predetermined offsets than might require spacers and longer bolts. Posts 34 - 41 of the thread should give you a better feel. Limitations are mainly in the rear with the toelink as shown in the picture in that thread. I can be solved several different ways: barrel size, offset, etc.

I've been running -3.0 F and -2.5 R camber, 0 F toe and 1/16" total R toe in my current car and don't expect to change much for the GT4. Most new to tracking a GT4 are running the F bar soft, I'm planning to leave it in the middle and try the rear bar 1 off full stiff. I will check corner balance but am not planning to change ride height at first. I am following the BGB Blog, good info there.
