Dear Constatine: Now that I have fabbed up some extra installation parts to help guide my bearing assemblies into and down the TT, I got to wondering..Should I put some pop rivest through the tube wall to insure that the bearings don't "walk" up and down inside the tube? I have read where guys do this on 924's but I haven't heard or seen this about the 944 assemblies. Your thoughts and experiences, please..Thanks, Rich Nunn AKATiger 03447

I have an increasing number of customers with noisy Torque Tube Bearings and no fix locally, other than trying to put the original keepers back with new bearings.

Looking at your website and rennlist I like the look of your product and want to look at purchasing a set of bearings, initially for a 968, then if that works well I may try and set up a change over service. As a professional I appreciate the need for accuracy in the re installation of the driveshaft, I see you have made up a tools to do this. Are they available to purchase also?

Do you have an agent in Australia, or do I buy through Black Sea direct. If so what would the freight cost for the bearings?

I was curious about you TT bearings. I am one of the many running an LS1 corvette motor in my 944 and was not sure about my TT. Would you have any of the bearing to hold up to 350hp or so?

So, what do you think, where the clamp slide comes from? Is it the torsion that lengths and shortens the shaft or some kind of linear frequency (favourite theory from my wife who studied applied mathematics and plays violin).

What drives me to think about your fixing version: There are already some cars with the Loctite or PKlamp solution which are still alive after >30k mls. If the torsion idea is true, maybe the flex can absorb the movements in both directions? I'm struggling with myself - what happens, if the mysterious moving force cannot move the clamp and now is going somewhere else...

Bahh - I've seen a died GTS last week and I could cry... I'm looking forward to get your appreciated opinion!

I red many of your articles and do believe that you're a professional. So, I'd like to ask you to share your thoughts about the TBF-issue:

Already a couple of years in Germany we're discussing now the background of the TBF-stuff. As you might have red, I'd also have kinda good relation with Zuffenhausen, but even over there, the engineers who'd been involved in developing the 928 couldn't figure out for sure the mechanism of movement from the flexplate-clamp.

In general I am with you and think about installing your new clamp, BUT: From the engineers side I am trained to never jail any force. (Cause of that, here a preferred solution is to establish a kinda floating connection between the flywheel and the driveshaft like on manual cars.)
