Hello, was doing some research around the boards for a reputable 928 mechanic. Your name came up. I'm from central NJ area with a 1983 ROW 928s. It currently has a high idle, was wondering if you'd be able to resolve that issue. Thanks!

    Hi, Stan,
I’m purchasing my first 928 and just learned you’re the one in the Philly tri-state area to do thorough inspections and repair work. I’m looking at two cars an 87 red and tan auto S4 with 70k miles and a black on black 86.5 S4 auto with 48k miles great condition. When I decide, what’s the best way to schedule an inspection at your shop? Email or call?

    thanks.

I'm trying to figure out how to post a new thread on this so others can help and maybe be helped by what I am finding. I have searched the forums and found similar issues but not quite the same.

I could only use 1000 characters, I am also learning how rennlist works and will upgrade to a 1 year membership. Her is the list of what I have done, new optima battery good cables, new fuel pump, filter and relay. Car started and ran OK but after about 10 minutes it just stopped like the key was turned off. Cranked over and it tries to start but won't grab. After removing air box and air flow meter it started after a cranking a little bit, once running it ran great. While trouble shooting the air meter per the workshop manuals I got these values while holding a ohm meter to posts 6-9 = 0.55 6-8 = 0.36 8-9 = 0.20 6-7 =0.10 when I move barn door the reading goes up only on this jumper 7-8 = 0.31 27-6 = 3.28 I am at the point where even with the air meter off it will try to start but does not grab. Today I started at the 14 pin connector and found crumbling wires and I am planning to replace the engine harness then the injection harness since there are broken insulation on that as well.

    Hi Stan,
I am a new Rennlist member who just purchased a 1982 928 that had been sat for a couple years and had what I thought would be an easy fix. Fuel Pump and relay replacement. Past owner replace fuel pump and filter, jumped the relay and got it to run for 10-15 seconds and sent me a video. It sounded healthy so I bought it had it shipped from CT to Easton PA this past Wednesday. I installed a new Optima battery and a new fuel pump relay and go it started and it sounded OK. Thursday morning it had been idling about 10 minutes it just stopped, like the key was turned off so I figure electrical. Did some checking of relays and fuses and could not find a problem then I went onto Rennlist and followed the guy that got a free 928 several years ago thru his trials I see you are in Philly, I used to belong to Reisentotter Any chance you could direct me in the proper sequence for testing items on the engine?

Hi - New 928 owner and reading up on my model. Saw a comment you made on a thread a couple years ago and wanted to ask you about it. Here's the thread https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...ro-5speed.html
You told him to get rid of the K & N and get a stock air cleaner - 1) Why? Does the factory work better than the K&N? 2) How in the world did you know there was a K&N in there?

I bought an '84 Euro last summer and just starting to restore it. It's in pretty rough shape. Runs but not driveable. I already sent the MAF to Rich in Phoenix and it was fine but now he wants the LH and EZF modules. The only other thing I've done to it is put in a K&N filter, hence my question.
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi Stan,

I am looking to buy a 928S. The car is located in Yonkers, NY - Do you have time to perform a PPI inspection or recommend someone who can?

    Thank you!
