Very sorry for the late reply. I just saw that I had a message. The car is fine after the engine was replaced. I did negotiate...and I had to negotiate...an extended warranty (to 100k). I guess that it all depends on the talent of the service folks at the dealer. pls let me know how you made out. carlos

They had my car for 2.5 weeks replaced a bank of lifters (6/24), replaced the chain tensioner, said drive 500 miles and if still there bring it back. I've driven 300 and still there. So I guess I shouldnt be surprised if they swap the engine. How has your car been since engine swap and what are the potential down sides to this?
