Hello iceman,
Just checking up on a post of yours I about new tires for your 911. I'm looking at replacing mine on my '89 Targa, and the Firehawk Indy 500 tires are high on the possibility list.
What's your experience with these so far?
Thanks,
Brian Wagner
Thank you for taking the time to answer! Yes the smog pump is intact, and passes emissions just not the visual. I heard that my color brown wasn’t available for California so may not be a California car just don’t know how to prove it.
Hey iceman
i have a 1978 sc and California smog shops won’t pass it because it doesn’t have an egr valve but has cats. I was wondering if you were familiar with this situation?
I found your post on the 1987 Throttle assembly and was hoping if you could give me a couple pointers on how to attach the clip to the lever and to the pull rod?
Hello theiceman, I hope I'm contacting the right person. I spend most of my time on Pelican but I wandered over to Renlist to see what info was available on reinstalling an air box n my 83 sc. I had a mechanic work with me during disassembly but he's busy these days getting boats ready for spring launch.
I'd like to move this project along if I could but I can see where I might have difficulties since we didn't take nearly enough photos.
I think some of the problems I'll have is fitting the new air box to runners 4,5,and 6.
I'm also not 100% sure of the fitment of the two large hoses on the passenger's side next to the oil reservoir, plus a couple of metal support brackets in that area as well.
I think you mentioned in your postings that you have lots of photos which I'm sure would help a great deal.
If you are willing to send pics that might help me get started.
Let me know what you think.
Thx,
Hugh
Hi Iceman, I have the 1980 SC with clutch cable issues. Thanks for all your help and responses. Its amazing how quick to get info. Really appreciate it. You seem very knowledgable. So if its not the cable and could be internal R911 states not too had to drop the tranny. I have pulled a couple small British 4 cylinders and replaced a clutch but this looks like a huge job. Is it even possible to pull it out with out a lift? I only have a jack and jack stands.
