I cannot thank you enough for the insightful comments in April on the subject of oil, it is far and away the most detailed analysis of oil and oil choices that I have ever read (and I have been reading a lot to determine what type of oil to run in my 94 968). You mention in your posting many oils to avoid for "Last Century" Porsches, would you be willing to say which oil you do run in older cars?

Hi there, I have a quick question I hope you might have time to answer.. I have recently bought a 968 after selling my 944 Turbo. I used Valvoline in my Turbo and I know you guys are recommending the VR1 for our cars with 20W50 for use in Australia. Here in Denmark its generally a bit cooler so I am wondering if I should use the same 20W50 here, the semi syn 10W60 or the all synthetic 5W50.? Is there the same amount of ZDDP in all versions of VR1 and what does your many years of experience say.? My 968 has done 108k km and is mostly a street car with the occasional track day.
