Would you mind providing me with your impression of your friend Dougs' '88 S4 currently for sale? (mechanicals, cosmetics, and anything else that comes to mind).

If I won the auction, taking delivery of the car would mean flying in and driving home, which for me living in southern Illinois would be about 1600 miles. Needless to say the whole sight-unseen thing is cause for concern, especially as I've been burned once before.

As PPI's are always suggested, would you be able to recommend anyone local who knows 928's who could be enlisted to give the car a once over in the next few days? It sounds like Doug has done a lot since he's had the car, but maybe there are other issues that still need attention?

And one last best case scenario what-if. If I ended up flying out to pick up the car, any suggestions of a good hotel in the Bozeman area for getting rested up for the drive home?
