I've been deciding between a 951 and a 944S2, and your
post convinced me to focus on the S2. I've had two Cayman S's (2006 and 2007) as daily drivers and track day cars, as well as Miatas, and currently a 2005 Lotus Elise. I agree that momentum cars demand better driving skill, and its the ability to maximize speed in the corners, not straight line speed, that makes for a great driving experience.
I've found
rare 90 S2 Cobalt Blue, with Blue interior (all my cars are blue, so this was a sign!), unmodded, that I'm getting a PPI on this week. I know the clutch is original, and will need replacement. I'm curious as to your recommendations for a clutch that can stand up to track day usage (I admit to being hard on the tranny, the result of an ingrained tendency to
speed shift).
