The small green rubber O-ring isn't needed. Suncoast thinks it's needed when you spin on the filter, but it's not. The factory original had no ring and the workshop manual doesn't specify it. I told Suncoast that but apparently they're still including it in their kit for some reason. I didn't mention it in the DIY because I assumed Suncoast would eliminate it and I didn't want to cause confusion.

I only drained from the forward sump plug as that's what is shown in the workshop manual. If you wanted to pull both plugs you might get a tiny bit more oil out but I don't think it's necessary and removing the plugs in the tight space is kind of a PITA.

As for the pads, you'll want the low profile pad with the pin in the middle.

The jack stands will work with any jack that can fit in the open side of the stand. However, because the car is so low, the jack needs to be low profile. Just FYI I've also included a link to the jack that I use.

Appreciate the feedback. I too love my turbo. It is my daily driver. I also have a 96 Carrera with only 4K miles on it. Can't keep both of them and get a 991 gt3. So for me, the question is can I use the GT3 as a dd? How does the ride compare? Is it much stiffer than your 996turbo? Oh, my suspension is stock- car has X50 package.

Yes, I still have my Turbo. I love that car. I have the EPL flash, Speed Tech exhaust and PSS10 coilovers. It is a wonderful car that I will be daily driving. The GT3 will be my weekend car. The two are very different. The GT3 is just amazing in every way. It is faster than my turbo by quite a bit and the handling is night and day. The GT3 is by far the best car I've driven. While I intend to keep my turbo, it really doesn't compare to the GT3. If you can get one, you should!
