Congrats! Great car...I bought a new '66 912 when I got out of the Navy. Yes, check timing first. Might be accelerator pumps in carbs. Can you look in venturis to see if they're pumping? Best tech I know around here is Charles Ruppert at C&C Motorsport in GSO. 336-297-9595.

Hope you are doing well. I've recently aquired a 68 912. Car is in great shape, but does have some engine running issuses. Do you know anyone local that can adjust Solex carbs? It's got a problem revving up under a load. I've got to check the timing,but it feels like it might also be carbs. My number is 336 655 0102.

I appreciate you answering back. That's a cool memory to have as to how you bought your car. I'm hoping it's less than 2 years before I pull the trigger on a 993. My interest in these cars has hit a fevered pitch. Have you had any problems/issues with your '95? Also, did you ever consider buying a 96-97?

Sorry to bother you but I read your profile and I couldn't help but ask you a couple of questions. Over the last 3-4 months I have been searching high and low for a 993. In particular, I am looking for a 95 coupe blk on blk. with ltd. slip. How long did it take for you to find the 95? Also, was it a local puchase or did you have to travel? It seems like this particular car is really hard to come by. Any feedback you can provide would be much appreciated.

The seat is without brackets. I had used B-Krause brackets but most brands would work including Sparco or Recaro. The harnesses are good until 2014 (FIA rules). I purchased them new in early 2009 - not sure of mfg. date. I used them with an AutoPower roll bar which included a harness bar. These will work with any bar.

An early '95 993 will be mfg'd in 1994 (you can find the date on the driver's door sticker) and, in all probability, will have a VIN of 321XXX or under. The definite give-away is finding the option code sticker under the trunk lid. Look for 718. This means it has a '94 engine w/o the SAI. All this info. is in Adrian Streather's book, which I highly recommend.
