To me it is normal and one of the easiest cars to clean I have owned because it is so small. I have had so many black cars though, that I just don't obsess over it. I try to wash it weekly in the summer and whenever it hits mid 50s to 60s in the winter - or take it to a professional detailer if winter is too rough.

The key to keeping a black car looking good to me is washing it mostly myself. And I have found that leaving a black car dirty for a bit is better than messing around with a poor wash job.

Yes, sometimes I wish I would have gotten an "S" - just in case - and sometimes I wish I had full leather - maybe even a cab. But for me, I had to be realistic about the costs. This car is already so much performance for a road car that the better "S" brakes and slight bit more power - I couldn't justify. PASM, I think would be nice. I reckon if I'd had the budget, without stretching too much, I would have done the "S" too out of ego, but the base Carrera is still quite a car.

    Hi Steve,
I'm retired and getting ready to buy my 1st 911, I have found several used 09 C2's with 6sp (all non S cars like yours) at an OK price. My problem is, this will be my last P car and I'm wondering if I should spend the extra $10K and get 09S instead, purly an ego thing. Do you ever think, I wish I went with an S. instead?
    Bob
