    Pete you realize that The COIN Strategy was originally developed and published for the US Army and Marines with General Patreaus and General Mattis as the developers -see the forward (http://www.fas.org/irp/doddir/army/fm3-24fd.pdf). However, in the final final draft General Mattis was no longer included as part of the forward General Amos was (http://www.fas.org/irp/doddir/army/fm3-24.pdf).
