hi Edwin i know, you have a beautiful car. i met you once at your garage with john broek. i think your car is in better shape. for getter or for worse, i decided the black one might not be the one for me. the engine is a replacement engine and there have been some panels repainted. what do you think of the car?

Are you looking at the black RS in Vancouver? I have a Maritime Blue one.

    Regards,
    Edwin

Happy to provide the info. The slate gray is really beautiful. Definitely worth a look if the price works.

I didn't see anything with the odo but didn't have the car PPI'd. The difference from what was reported to what the actual was I wasn't too concerned. Unfortunate the info ended in CarFax. I would imagine the entry was rounding error.

I spoke to TruSpeed who sold the car a while back, I suspect to the owner that listed it on consignment with the dealer in Greenwich. The gentleman at TruSpeed (a nice guy) mentioned the wheel was refinished and (I think) the bumper. IIRC, the underside of the bumper was very clean. The way I drive I can't quite keep the scrapes off, so I was mildly suspect. The Turbo S front lip makes it even harder to clear the front. I've got a lot of spots where my lower car without the lip clears no problem and the TTS can scrape if not careful.

There is a thread about that car. I looked at it a year ago in Greenwich, CT and it showed up again on Long Island a few months ago. Dealer in CT (high end consignment) didn't want to let me send the car where I wanted for PPI, they insisted on the Greenwich Porsche dealer (not my choice).

When I looked at the car is was super clean. I didn't have my paint gauge with me so don't know that info. The leather had shrunk in the airbag cover on the steering wheel and had some discoloration on the seat adjustment switches on the passenger side.

    Hope this helps!

Hello Just wondering if in the 993 Turbo world, there is a difference in perceived value between a 1996 vs. 1997 turbo. I tried to find a link to this topic because I have seen it before somewhere. Also if anyone knows of any 993 Turbo S's in the Pacific Northwest region for sale or down the west coast, please let me know.....thanks!

I had the PPI on Sloan's TTS (the black one with 9k or so miles, I think he now has one with higher mileage), performed by SpeedSport Tuning in Danbury, CT. The contact there is Spencer Cox from Farnbacher-Loles.

The car didn't have any big mechanical flaws and didn't appear to have had the motor pulled at any point. While the paint on the car read good thinkness (I think 100-130 microns all over) I was not wowed with the condition of the car. The seats had quite a bit of wear for the mileage, there were a few chips on the front, the paint needed a good detail and, according to the mechanics, the underside of the car/mechanical areas were quite dirty as well.

I found the polar silver car through a tip from rennlist member NYC123 after I posted about trying to buy the gray car in Greenwich.

Happy to help and let me know if you have any additional questions about the Sloan car (I also looked at the artic silver car there and decided not to pursue it).
