No I have still not resolved the problem of how to get into the rear glovebox - I keep looking at it for inspiration - my next step is to get a locksmith in to try and pick the lock maybe?

My apologies for not seeing your post and replying. My cars do not have these locking areas as a result I have not a proper answer for you. I did examine the rear center compartment lock of martinss' later car and could not see how you could get it open without some damage. If you have resolved your problem please add it to the post tutorial I wrote or even start another post as I am sure there are lots of people who will benefit from your experience.
