you have to drop the bell housing cover, but i have a hole I cut (a hatch) to inspect and adjust. it takes a few min that way. adjustment when you drop the lower bell housing consits of making sure the "H" gaps are only about 1mm. they are probably too large (ie 1.5mm) and the clutch is dragging on the input shaft, making it hard to put it in 1st or reverse, right?

sounds like a very interesting concept . I wonder if the drilled rotors do a similar thing. (due to the air being ejected at the holes through the surface area) also, dont the pads barely rub along the rotor surface doing the same thing on a bigger scale?

    thanks for the note

    Hi Mark,
    Greetings from Scotland.
From a Scottish club racer I got this tip.
The brake disc as it rotates carries with it a thin layer of air, the boundary layer. In effect the disc, even as it rotates at high speed, sits in a thin blanket of still air and this acts as an insulation. This owner made up a "scraper" using welding wire fixed to the hub and bent to skim the sides of the disc as closely as possible without touching. This disturbed the boundary layer as the disc rotated and created turbulance at the disc surface thereby cooling the disc. He claimed that this gave him several extra laps of good braking over competitors in similar cars. I havent tried this mod myself yet but the theory seems sensible and it would be an easy and cheap mod to try.

    Best Wishes,
    Brian Heffron.
