Default Aston Martin....Am I crazy?

Just getting my Lusso back after 2 months at the dealer.....Warranty up in March 2020....I'm nervous about it....PTU was just changed at a warranty bill of $25K or so....I could extend the warranty for another year but the DBS Superleggera has me intrigued....I know ther is some old MB tech but the car is stunning.....Anyone have history with AM, good and bad?

Why not trade it in for a newer Lusso with warranty. AM has always been the king of depreciation.

Because it would cost the same (probably more) and the Lusso is right there with depreciation. My 1 year old Lusso was 24% under MSRP. The AM can't be any worse...

If I was in your shoes I would go after the DBS Superleggera just because I love Aston and that car to me is gorgeous! That's me though. Aston is pretty bad depreciation wise and I think is more like 30% under first year or so. However with the AMG engine (I think?) . It might be a bit more reliable?

I truly love the DB11. The lines are classic Aston Martin! My only problem with AM is that the old adage of needing two of them: one to drive while the other is being worked on, seems to still be holding true.

You’d have more fun just burning your cash.

I think AM scored big with their new design for the DBs and Vantages. Some new colors as well. For the first time in years, I see quite a few new ones around. I honestly do not think that the idea of having one is crazy at all. Especially compared to a Lusso. They seem to have some good lease deals. I think AM wants to get as many new cars around as they can, to fix the brand in consumers' minds.

I would likely wait out my Lusso warranty and buy a one year old one in the Spring of 2020. That will definitely get me the best bang for the buck and first year drop is always the worst.

Yea with an MSRP of 350 ish for the DBS, I could see that car being closer to 240-270 as a one year old car, nice 80-110k chunk of savings.

If AM stock keeps dropping, soon you can buy the whole company.

Even then, I'd still probably wouldn't want to own an Aston Martin. Car, that is.

You're not crazy. Aston Martin remains one of the coolest car brands in the world!

I’ve owned Aston’s over the years. Great cars and probably more fun to drive than a Lusso. If you don’t need storage room, I would fo with the Aston I would sort out a used one.

Make sure you have an excellent dealer for service. I heard the one in your state is being sold.
