Accidents
I recently purchased a 2011 Panamera. During the research of this purchase i had the opportunity to look at many carfax reports. I found a considerable percentage of Panameras that had been in reported accidents. Is there something wrong or just too many people trying to have a little too much fun and having it get away from them ?

I had a low-speed frontal collision in April in my ‘18 4S. I was stopped at a “t” intersection and a lady making a left turn onto my street cut the corner wildly and hit my left front bumper. The impact broke my front splitter and rubbed some paint off the bumper cover. I continued to drive the car without issue until I was able to bring it to a Porsche-approved autobody shop. The initial insurance assessment was for $1400; when repairs were finally completed the total was $14,000! The shop was very thorough and replaced all kinds of things, like an intercooler, etc. I think they were covering all the bases! The place I took it too also works on Bentleys, Ferraris, Mclarens, etc and I think they are quite liberal with how they define what needs to be repaired/replaced. In any event, it certainly wasn’t my fault, that’s for sure!

I don't think it's the owners, I think it's how people start to drive around them. People always tailgate me, give me the finger, Illegally pass me when I'm driving my the Panny. I don't drive it hard or do anything dicky either. People just really hate it. I've had multiple rude comments made to me when parking, people shaking their heads at gas stations etc. and It's not me, because when I drive my Ram or Audi's it's nothing like it.

A couple of things, IMO (and probably follows similarly for Cayennes)...these cars are daily commuters, therefore more likely to be hit/bumped/damaged in the course of driving during higher-risk times. They're also expensive to repair, where a driver may be more likely to go through insurance to fund a repair, at a given deductible, versus paying out of pocket in the case of less-expensive/complex vehicles.

The other factor is that not all bumps are created equal. If you scrape a panel backing out of your garage and make an insurance claim, it shows up on carfax just as it would have in a major collision. Even if you just curb damaged a wheel, it will show up as an accident if you do an insurance claim. For small stuff, I would not walk away so long as repair was completed to a high standard.

Shula,I also experienced that kind of behavior fifteen years ago when I had a 928S4 . No love. Didn't know that this model drew a similar response. Haters gonna hate I guess.

I watched this video on youtube and this guy had perviously owned a Panny. He described a similar experience to me and as you did in your 928. He said that he never experienced such hate before when driving, he said that car caused so many issues for him by just owning it. so it's pretty common.

Well if we're talking haters, my Panny is the only vehicle I have that doesn't tend to draw them, so it's the easiest to blend in w/ traffic. My 911 is a small step in the Hater direction, but nothing takes the cake like my Hummer H2. Despite my courteous driving habits, Priuses continue to cut me off and drive right in front of me. It's a very interesting world out there...
