Wow, looks good even unpainted. The silver blends in nicely.
Pretty cool system huh. You'll wonder how you got by w/o it.

NSXTC,Can you have another kit mounted for the front end? Just curious. I'm definitely getting one for the rear. Thanks for the great advice!

The problem with mouting a kit in the front is how/when to activate it. The rear is easy as it's triggered on the reverse light.
For the front, the module needs to determine the speed and shut itself off when it's over 10 mph for example. This is a lot more complicated to program/wire up. There's only one company in UK that has a front module. I don't know how prone it is to false readings. Speed is relative. If you are traveling at 50 MPH and is behind a car traveling the same or 2 MPH faster, will the sensor think you are going 2 MPH and turn itself on? The other way is to hook it to the car's speedo. This is a lot more complicated and unless you have the factory wiring of all the cars out there, most aftermarket manufactures won't even bother. HTH, David

Can you describe how you intalled the sensors and ran wires from the bumper back to the left rear compartment? Is it pretty easy to get behind the bumper to run the wires cleanly across the width of the bumper back to the left side?
Living in the city (Boston) w/ my 2 day old Cayenne S, this is a very practical mod that I may attempt (once I get over the fear of taking a drill to my brand new beauty!) Thanks AJ |

Unscrew 4 torx screws securing the black lower bumper from underneath.
Drill 1/2" holes in stragetically placed locations on painted part of the bumper. Route wire from sensors through drilled hole. You can pull back the black bumper to make routing the wires easier. Run all wires across to the left side. Push in the sensors. There's locking tabs and fins to keep the sensor from moving. Pick one plug out of the available 4 or so gray plugs from the inside of the left rear compartment. Push down on the plug to pop out. Run the sensor wires through the compartment hole and plug into CPU. Plug hole with clear RTV silicion. HTHs, David

Any idea whether there's a dealer install network for this elsewhere?

Just ordered the Poron park assist system. I'm going to follow NSXTC's great directions and try install later on this week.
My first mod! (well not counting 18" turbo wheels w/ Pirelli Scorpion snows) AJ |

I just had mine installed at my Porsche Dealer. Unfortunately it was a little pricey @ ~ $90.00/hour, but they did a good job and it was well worth it.I too did not paint around the sensors and it looks OEM. Works great too. I highly recommend this Poron Micro 5 Series unit. The guys at Poron were very friendly and I experienced a smooth transaction. Shipping was ~$10.00 via Fedex Ground. Thanks again NSXTC! ![]()

I am interested in getting this but are those holes the same size as the OEM park assist holes?

Well, the Poron sensors are 1/2". I don't know how big the OEM park assist holes are. My guess is the OEMs are bigger like 1"?
