Ha, so did I. I also got this.

We submitted the oil test results to Porsche and they said the same thing that the lab did. Everything looks good. They said it's normal for all Porsches to burn about 1.6 quarts of oil per 622 miles. They asked us to check the oil separator to see if there was any excessive oil. We checked & found some oil in there so we're gonna replace that piece with the gasket.

The seatbelt receptacle & the rear headrest plastic trim has been replaced.

We're replacing the PCM unit in the dash.

Found misfire faults in the engine's computer. We're gonna give you a new set of ignition coils to combat the rough idle. (second set)

We found suspension/PASM working ok. No leaks found in suspension. There is no hydraulic fluid for it, only air. We're still checking to see if control units are working ok. I'll let you know.

We performed the W725 update for the airbag plug connectors.

Thank lord for the warranty!!!!!

My 2004 S (with 20k miles on her) in because it was bogging down when I was driving between 20-35 MPH. The trans had me in 6th, and was not shifting down correctly.

I took it in and TWO problems were identified!

1. The original factory ignition coil packs were prone to cracking, and when you put the vehicle under load (accelerating), the spark would arc out of the coil and onto your block (or path of least resistance). They admitted to this, and replaced ALL 8 OF THEM with new upgraded ones. But the faulty coil packs also fouled my spark plugs, and I got new ones replaced as well.

2. The transmission shifts ended up being unrelated to the faulty coil packs. They admitted that 1st Generation Cayenne S's needed to be "reprogrammed" with new shift points or something like that? Not sure if hardware was replaced as well or not? But they said that as 1st Gen's come in, they check to see if the modifications have been made, if not....that is when they upgrade them.

And also had fixed:


3. Also...if your head light dim bulbs are burnt out, take it in as they will replace them for free with upgraded ones as well.

4. Rear hatch had to be SLAMMED to close, dealer fixed by adjusting

5. Key fob remote range SUCKED ASS! Dealer "re-programmed" and now they give me an extra 20 feet of range....(meanwhile my Infiniti G35 Coupe and 350Z get ranges of 2 city blocks)

That is it so far. I am GLAD as hell that I bought an extended warranty from a respected (and insured for 30 years) provider that will take me to 100k miles and/or 2013!

The old one would changes bands and/or stations from time to time and it appeared to be happening more frequently.

Yea I told the dealer about something similar with my 2004 CS, and they said that they "could not duplicate it"

Another funny one was....I was sitting in a store parking lot about to head inside. Engine running, and CD playing on the stereo. I was JUST ABOUT to text my wife on my cellphone, so as I reached for it, she just text'd me and as the text came through the stereo went from CD to like fuzzy FM/AM (I could literally hear people talking on a station!) and then immediately BACK to CD! I was like HOLY CRAP!

Hey thanks for posting that I recently got all 8 coils replaced last week, and as I read somewhere else on here....the CORRECT replacement coils part number ends in 003.

But they never mentioned anything about the Ignition Module when I had her in last week Just one more thing to add to my growing list of things to bring up when I take her back in for one last time before factory warranty expires.

EW, what's the build date on your CS? I had the horn replaced and asked about the airbag recall issue and was told it didn't apply to my CS.

Craig, it's an '05 with '04 build date. However, I noticed something interesting, starting this February. All of the invoices state that production date is June '05.

Full set of heater flap motors (3rd time). Complete valve body in auto trans - its shifting well again. All under that wonderful extended warranty.

Amplifier Failure (Any one know what the fix is?)

I almost always drive it in manual mode and have not (thus far) had to have coils.
I am expecting they will be replaced prior to 50,000 miles.

What exactly is the failure mode/code?
The simple answer is that the amplfiier is merely replaced (rear cargo compartment, passenger side, on top of wheel well, behind trim panels......Mudman2 has a nice photograph of it and what has to be removed to access it)

Amplifier Failure MOST is the most common visual error I have seen. Its an initialisation error, I would suspect a dodgy MOST setup, loose connection. I manually recreated that error a few times when messing with the system. Normally a restart after turning off for a few minutes will restore the system assuming it was a transient failure and not something that fell off, like the CDC terminator in the back.

Stupid cowboy belt buckle add ons that I need to remove one day since the seat belts worked fine prior to the TSB.

Turn signal light replaced twice.

Air bag replacement Work order W726 IIRC.

Last week new battery for the key.

Needs new tires and brake pads soon

Otherwise runs great no issues, great vehicle.

I wouldn't leave them in there forever; they can deform the leather, leaving you with a cowboy belt buckle imprint.....
