K Car - Perfect comparison

You could always find a nice big cement wall and let the Pig barrel towards it alone on a final journey. But I understand the "can't sell it" comment. I can't get rid of my 04. In fact, I'm not sure I could give it away.

Transmission
Radio (no audio?)
Cardan shaft
Coils/plugs?

04 Cayenne S?

Sounds typical.
I'm guessing you bought the Cliff Notes version of the Cayenne Buyer's Guide?

I'm sorry, let me try again:

Cliff, pig, fly

Learned that from this great teacher who had this amazing picture of pigs flying...if I could only find it. I think his name was Larry or something like that

Coils update: Just had all 8 replaced at an indy at 70k miles. $387 total, included a quart of oil. Interesting side effect: The replacement of the coils fixed the Oil Monitoring System Failure "!" I was intermittently getting. So happy (relatively).

The part ending in 05 is the latest I believe. If you order from Sunset (Beaverton, OR) they'll will confirm the latest part # for you. They also usually have the best prices IMHO.

Question

Does anyone know if the newer versions (ending in 03 or 05) will also crack as the originals did? Would it be safe to assume that once the coils have been replaced with either one of the updated part numbers, this recurring problem should be permanently fixed?

In a word. NO!.

After a very serious entrepreneurial illness of the past 8 months (bought biz that was in need of cardiac defib and 100% oxygen) heeeeee's baaaaaaack... Hi Lewis!!

my 48K+ miles, 06 Tit.S. nearly died 2 days ago... and all of a sudden.. engine light on, horrible stutter at low rpm... FLASHING engine light if above 5K RPM. "What the hell is that??
I think to myself... we're way past the "old" coil problem.. HELL NO! Larry was right.. New Porsche.. keep putting in 100,000 of the old coils we bought and have in the pipeline and don't fix the inherent design flaw.. However up until this 2003 Cayenne issue re-appearing nearly 7 years later STILL, the Tit.S has been flawless. I just paid because they've been good to me.. but they charged me for plugs but warrantied the coils. I could have pushed it but was in a hurry to pull a 5x8 Uhaul full of stuff on my hitch... so after the whole coils thing.. would you believe it.. 1st time ever... NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hauling the UHaul. <=1=> light worked correctly when turning etc. Larry officially rolled over in his grave.... i.e. Cayenne lighting worked on a trailer and no flashlights on the hood!?!?..

At the office after 6 hours on errands at 1030PM but only to quickly post and hopefully more to follow ....

Cheers! Forum Bartender MadFox (if ltc hasn't fired me for skipping classes for so long).
