Then my guess would be that you have a rain sensor only, not a rain & light sensor, and would need to order the rain & light sensor for this to work. 99761269400 for an '07 911 Coupe.

Hmmmm...
I'll start researching, thanks!

OK, has anyone tried the Porsche switch from Sunset or the $20 eBay switch?

SUCCESS!

First, a major thank you to CarreraCup03. This solves one of my few complaints about our Cayenne.

I ordered the part from my local Porsche dealership a few days ago - the part arrived on Friday. Official Porsche Part # 955 613 235 03 6N3

I paid $118.31 with tax. I know I could have gotten it cheaper online, but I wanted the part ASAP and don't mind helping local dealership's for small parts like this.

Here is the part:

Here is the vehicle - 2006 Cayenne Turbo S.
NO Auto Dim Rear View Mirror
NO Rain Sensing Windshield Wiper

Removing the switch took literally 30 seconds. There was a video posted earlier in the thread. The plug that the switch plugs into looks like this:

Please note the VW & Audi symbols on the plug.

Here is the new vs old switch (both coincidentally fit perfectly in the cup holders):

Here is the new switch in the vehicle - perfect fit.

For the moment of truth. Pulled the truck into the garage. Success!!!

For those that care, here is a video if it working:

Good luck to everyone else, thank you again CarreraCup03.

See post #22 in this thread. I'm waiting for my switch to arrive as well; should have it early next week. This has probably been my biggest "I can't believe it didn't come with this" complaint about an otherwise awesome vehicle.

Erik,

I had to laugh when I saw your video. It looks exactly like me pulling into my own garage. I have a silver CTT ... with snow blower and trash cans in the same places ... and of course the new auto headlights.

Glad it all worked out.

Thanks. This was the first time she was pulled into the garage - the sensors were going crazy with all the junk in there.

If someone could figure out how to start this damn thing without hitting the brake (ie reach your hand in) - I think she'd be perfect.

Thanks again.

I have an EPL tune. I do not have to hit the brake to start the car anymore. I just turn the key and the car starts.

Interesting - I'll look into it. Their website seems to be limited right now.

Thanks,
Erik

Man! Gen 1 Cayenne owners have been putting up with this deficiency all this time, and now we know it can be solved with a plug-N-play fix! Simply unbelievable! What's even more unbelievable is the fact that Porsche didn't bother to just put the auto light switch in all of its cars, given it has already produced the part. and it doesn't even cost a whole lot of money. What are they thinking?

I was waiting for your report on that, virkdoc!

My dealer is selling the switch for $84. I may bite the bullet soon.

If this helps, this is the coding from my car if you want the coming home function (delay of xx seconds in the MFD for the auto headlights). Give it a shot with durametric!

It looks like you add 1 to the left most digit. I.E. to disable it on my car (since I have it) I would subtract 1 so new coding would be 59630. Don't just copy my coding into your car.

Electrical System:
Coding 69630
