Default Plastic or Aluminum coolant pipes, how to tell without intake removal:

* Remove drivers side and center engine covers.
* Place mirror as shown.
* Using fashlight, shine light onto mirror and inspect.
* Picture is of center upper pipe. If you rotate the mirror, you can I.D. the lower pipe along with the other 2 upper pipes.
* This car still has the plastic pipes installed.
Hope this helps!

I was looking at this just now and saw that I still have plastic tubes. But when I touch the tube, it feels like it's ABS plastic and not rubber hose. Are the 3 hoses rubber hose or hard plastic? I was able to touch hose #3 on the picture without taking the intake out.

Pictures I took using my iPhone. I did this without taking taking the intake out. How can I convince the dealer to replace this under CPO? My CPO expires next month.

I would stick my iPhone back there and shoot a video! Maybe use a light but it appears that is not necessary. Great idea though.

Were all repairs done with aluminum pipes?

No and no. It has it's own problems, it didn't need to borrow any from Porsche.

So, I took a picture of my coolant pipes. It looks like mine have been changed?? Comparing them with the iPhone pictures by profusion.....

What do you think?

I need to know because I have already bought the kit and have scheduled the install for next week. I bought this 2003 Cayenne S, and there is no record of them changing the coolant pipes......

Definitely looks different - aluminum where there would be plastic. There seems to be an aluminum cross member holding the pipes - not like my kit. Anyone seen this before??
