Default Rennlist P!g History

Every so often a new member will ask, "where did the Cayenne get this great nickname from?" Sure, the 928 is the 'Shark' but the Cayenne is the 'P!g". I went on this quest to answer this all important question: who did coin the nickname Pig or (more recently) P!g?

Well ladies and gents, on 9-09-2002, Othello first used the term Pig:

Sadly, user Othello stopped using Rennlist in 2004. One can only assume he purchased a P!g but then later committed suicide.

In more recent history, Pops first used the term "P!g" on 6-18-2009:

So there you have it...P!g history. Go ahead and update Wikipedia.

Pops would love to take all the credit, but I think it should go to Love The Cayenne aka Larry, who, back in the day used to tell me that I will never feel the difference in HP (after I had my CS chipped + outfitted with a gemballa exhaust) in a "5000# P!G". Somewhere around the same time, I got more bling for the CS and Larry said it's all "Just lipstick on a P!G", hence a lovely avatar I once had:

So, in short, it really is LTC we have to thank

Boy, you guys really have a very poor memory. Porsche has always called the Cayenne a Pepper (hence cayenne pepper).

You guys can call yours Betty or Pig if you like, but stop insulting our (most of us) intelligence, thanks.

Rennlist members also overwhelmingly supported the P!g name with over 17 million votes in an official poll vs. only 41 supporting lesser-known nicknames like 'Pepper' (not sure why anyone would refer to an SUV as a vegetable).

Sorry Frank...accuracy is important and facts always win.

I would respectfully disagree
It was stated by the Rennlist Admin that neither myself or Larry (who is legally dead) voted in that poll.

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...-or-p-g-4.html

Therefore, the results of the poll were considered valid.
Now, as was mentioned, there may have been a few 'dangling chads' here and there, but again, as stated in the aforementioned thread, well within the customary margin of error for standard polling.

In other words, to quote the late Richard Dawson from "Family Feud"....

Survey Says .......

I don't think 'dangling chads' is proper here maybe 'leaking coolant' fits better
