Rear locking diff standard?

Rear locking diff standard?
I'm guessing not.. thought I'd check the action of the off-road stuff. Locks the center diff fine. Locks the front diff fine. Does nothing with the rear. Looked in the manual figuring maybe it was a fuse. Fuses 22-23 in the left drivers door panel are the rear differential lock - no fuses there, and no wiring for the fuse in the fuse box..

second light locks the central differencial 50:50 front-rear, third light locks the rear. The third light will still light; albeit, it is not actually locking anything if you do not have the offroad package, as pointed out. It just pretends. As lopo says, the Cayenned does not have a locking front. I believe only the Subaru STi, MB G-wagen, Powerwagon and Rubicon offer this? Anyone???

I can confirm rear locking was not std - was just in Colorado & Utah and only got the second light, 50:50 distribution. I checked the sticker and locking rear diff was not listed, so it must have been an option. I just picked up an '08 GTS.....I'm genuflecting in the general direction of Porsche engineers. Incredible on/ off road flexibility in on vehicle.

As bigbuzuki pointed out the rear diff lock option code is I1Y1 and my '06 Turbo S has this code where my old '05 Turbo had the code I1Y0 which comes up as 'Without differential lock', so I guess they want you to know it even if you don't have it.

we did it on a Q7 V8 4.2tdi which does not have a low range and any locking diffs, just limited slip center diff (torsen). low range is not an issue with 740lb/ft torque, but locking diffs front and back made a huuuuge difference. the only drawback is that we were not able to find any way of controlling the difflocks using factory switches, so we installed small switches in the center console armrest.
same goes for cayenne, they are identical twins (triplets actually :-) ) when it comes to diffs and such.
I can post some pics, but will have to ask my partner to send them to me and he's somewhere in UAE right now so you'll have to wait a couple of weeks.

Sounds cool. The locking rear diff is the only option my CTT doesn't have that I want.
Why? Because a Rubicon has it. A toyota truck has it. An FJ cruiser has it.
I did not realize that a locking front diff was ever offered...
