Also I wanted to have your opinion on the minor service. A major one as been performed 1 year ago (5000 miles), should I wait until the next major will be due or proceed with a minor in a couple of months?

There is a small problem with the alignment and I just discovered there are 2 Michelin 255/55R18 at the front but one is from 2011 and the other one is from 2009... The owner is 100% sure that he has changed both tires last year and apparently his wife did not tell him that she made replace one. Would like to have you opinion on this. Should I just go for a wheel alignment or change both tires even if they look like new?

At last the Porsche service shows that in February 2011 the brake disc and pad, the coolant protection, the spar plug, the handbrake, the drain plug, the AC and oil filters have been changed. Do you think I can expect something else or I should be safe at least for 1 year ?

Many thanks for your help!
Look above at mcbit and send a PM. He's in Dubai and might have a lead for service.

If you can on top of this recommend other cheaper brands than Michelin that would be great.

It all depends what you want from a minor service. If you want this:

Quote:
"• A fault code analysis
• Replacement of your oil filter and engine oil using Porsche recommended Mobil 1 oil*†
• Inspection for: leaks and abrasions, the vehicle’s underside and engine bay, coolant hoses,
coolant (level and antifreeze check), air intake, radiator, brake system, brake hoses and lines,
drive shafts, drive belt, tyres, electrical equipment, horn, windscreen wiper washing system,
lighting system (including headlights and indicators), roof system, battery and vent hoses,
bellows and centre bearing (up to Model Year 2003), suspension adjustment screws and
PDCC (check fluid level)
• A final test drive to check all of the major systems on your Porsche for their effective
operation. Items tested during the test drive include (if applicable): remote control, front seats,
foot and parking brake, engine, clutch, steering, transmission, ParkAssist, speed control,
PSM switch, Sport switch, heating, air conditioning"
on a V8 you will get it for about Dhs 800 to Dhs 900 from Alex Renner Motors or Al Naboodah which includes Dhs 500+ of oil and filter. Not a bad price in my opinion.

If you just want an oil change you can get it at the Mobil 1 service station near the Wafi Mall.

Hi Mcbit,

Tks for the tips but I got a quote yesterday from ARM and they are asking Dhs 1250 just for the oil change and the filters... Non negotiable (I tried). Al Naboodah is even worse, they do the minor for Dhs 2000 and the oil service for Dhs 1400. The price you are announcing are really interesting I'll try to negotiate again
Otherwise I'll go to Mobil 1.

Do you have the GPS coordinates or Google map point for the Mobil 1 service station? I'll have a look there tomorrow.

Pretty sure it was cheaper than that a year ago.

I'm pretty sure that this it in front of Karama on the Garhoud Bridge Rd (Sheikh Rashid Rd). Coordinates from Google Earth.

Thanks a lot Mcbit! I booked a minor service with ARM for AED 1250. At least I will feel better

Just one last question, I can feel some kind of vibrations when I stop the car at the traffic lights for instance. I comes from under the car and I don't feel this in the steering wheel, only coming from under the car really. It's not continuous but rather every 10s and not very powerful but quite disturbing considering that you are driving a Porsche and not Renault 4L (French background). Sorry it is pretty difficult to describe this...

Any idea where does it come from?
Thanks and enjoy your WE.
