I was looking for around 315 so I am going to be 175 to 200 lbs over my min weight. Is there a definitive driveline loss number?
What power mods are you running?

I also have a 2009 S PDK, curious as not many people are willing/able to dyno these.

Thanks,

idp, gt3 TB, evoms tune itc, fab headers and race muffler, Evoms air box mod. If the DL loss is 15% then I am making 360 at the engine.

I will try to put a video together from Saturday's race but here are the highlights from my first race weekend: The first 3 sessions on Friday were wet so I decided not to tempt fate and stayed in the paddock. The last two of the day were in changing conditions so it was difficult to access the handling of the car but everything was working properly. I started to get the sense that the Cayman was going going to understeer in the slow corners. Saturday morning was starting to dry out and speeds began to pickup while lap times were falling. While the straights are fast the 3 slow corners are awful! While initial turn-in is good as soon as i start to add power i get pushing on track out. I make multiple adjustments as I had limited time to access and change. I qualify 6th in class and have a pretty good start. I'm running 5th for much of the race and two cars had trouble and I finish 3rd. During the post race compliance testing the winning failed dyno with too much power and I ended up 2nd!!! Much better than i thought for my first race. The bad news is the front tires are used up and almost gone. I have them flipped on the wheel do I can race on Sunday. After morning warmup I find oil/grease on the rear wheel and ultimately find a cut/torn cv boot that is loosing grease. As the axle is brand new I decide to see about getting it replaced versus a field repair and retire the car for the day. All in all a good start for the WeedMan Porsche Cayman S!!!

Some performance info:

At the NASA scales at Mid Ohio I was 3070 lbs. The car weighed 2925 on other scales so will need to check this some more. The power came in at 306 rwhp on an AWD linked dyno. So the HP is down and my weight is up. Usually want this the other way!!! The car was setup for Sebring and didn't really like MO. I loosened the front and tightened the rear and got the handling better but the front tires were shot!!! In mixed conditions I ran a 1:39 on the club course (water running across the track in 2-3 spots and a very green track). The course was changed after an incident in T2/3 to the pro course and my best there in the race was a 1:36. This was on 245/285 R6's. I will need to be 1:32-1:33 on slicks.

Those lap times are very attainable in that car. If you are still running the take offs from Sebring, you have that in tires alone.

I would gain as much info that Justin can supply about all Florida tracks! rennsport-one.com
is best in the region for all Cayman setups and is great to work with. BTW the wheels in the avatar are cool, hope the stay that way.

how well does the PDK work for racing? Can it keep up with the car? Can you upgrade the software?

The PDK is very good. It shifts at all the right times. The main thing is how smooth it is. It can shift mid corner and not upset the balance of the car.

I noticed in the photos that you are running MCS suspension. I'm considering that for my Cayman S. What spring rates are you running? Thanks

Bill. That is a good question. In places they run soft 600-700 front and less in the rear. The rear ride height seems lower than the front. I will be going 700f and 800 r and making sure the rear rise height is slightly higher than the front

Bill that really depends on the circuit your setting the car up for. We know the MCS platform very well and have been using them on our Caymans for 3 years now. Shoot me a pm and I'll be happy to assist
