Default Percent of MSRP for 2009 987S

Hey Guys,

I am about to lease an 09 cayman s and the msrp is $68,245 and they are offering it for me at $66,945 + 700 shipping from port.

I have never purchased new, so just wondering what is normal % off. Above deal is less than 3% off!

thanks!
Greg

New 08s can be had for 20% off. Use that as a guide.

Good luck.

I would think an easy 10 to 15% depending on your negotiating skills.
I got 12% off my last new Porsche after the dealer told me these cars sell at list or above...

Times are alot tougher now

with a car like this... you don't need the car you want the car...the dealer however ... needs to sell you the car and wants you to have it...I would hang tough for 15%

I think it would be easy to get more off of a 2008 but for 2009's it seems to be much more difficult as there was a very limited production run. If I want to wait until the end of the summer I think I could do better on a 2009 or 2010...

Are you shopping your local dealers only? You may be able to do much better with some of the dealers who post here, even factoring shipping if it's needed. Good luck.

I would expect 15% off at a minimum.

I have shopped dealers in NY, FL, Cali, and locally in CO.
If I want to wait or take a 2008 I could get a major discount but on a 68k 2009, I am up to 7.5% and I am expecting delivery next week.

IMO is no chance to get 15% off an 09.

I was offered 5%...2009 Cayman....without much pressure they dropped to 12% off....the 2008 models were in the 20% range.....but the Porsche I bought was 2007 that was about 12000 less and had the full CPO warranty....so I am covered until May of 2013...or 100,000. Personally this car will be like a long demo ride....and I will order the exact car I wish...at a good discount....I sense that the number of available buyers for these type of car has decreased significantly....and thus the great deals...but not all dealers seem to feel that way...I talked to some Rennlist "supporters'....offering great deals....but they weren't

12% off a 2009 cayman seems great. Was it an S? I guess, I am also very pick about what options the car has...

We've sold about a dozen 2009 Cayman and S's and we're not selling them at even 10% off. We have a handful of 2008 S's and S Sports with huge discounts. JUst some color on the Cayman market for you from a dealer.
