Default How much do you think my car would go for?

Hey guys, I have been a lurker for some time but registered because I am about to sell my car. Curious what you guys think a fair price would be:

Its a seal grey 2006 cayman s, w/ tubi exhaust, an intake and the evoms reflash all done by sharkwerks. Has KW V3 coilovers as well as upgraded anti-sway bars. The windows are tinted and its on 19" sportec wheels that have been powdercoated black. Running brand new RE-11 tires with only about a month of light use. Car has 30,500 miles and runs like a champ with all service done proactively at porsche dealerships. Car has the xenon lights package, but no sport chrono.

I was thinking ~40k, thoughts? I also haven't been able to figure out how to post onto the classifieds area listed up above -- is this due to my post count?

Thanks in advance guys .

Morgan

Morgan you are in the ball park on price. As you know, you never get your money back on upgrades.

You need to be a Rennlist member to post in the classifieds. The link to join is in the upper right hand corner of the page. You may also want to check out http://www.planetporsche.net/ for more opinions.

I think 40k is pretty optimistic. The mods are nice but they generally wont help the price and there are 06 S's in the market with those miles which are CPO for a lot less.

+1. I agree. You will need to be much closer to $30K than you'd like...or like to admit.

Add 10 percent to the latest auction prices for a retail price...a private sale less. Don't expect to get too much on the mods and nothing on the tires.

The information you have shared is wonderful to get a 'real' sense of the market. How do you get this information? Is it available to regular folks ?

I am in the market for a used CS 07 or 08 - it would be great to have a rational basis for discussions..

pwn -

I agree with those above that $40K is a bit optimistic - of course, you might always luck out and happen to find a buyer that wanted those exact mods on a used Cayman, and is willing to pay extra for them - but I think that's a longshot. I was thinking more along the lines of $33-35K (assuming it is otherwise in excellent condition) when I first read your post.

I know it's a tough pill to swallow, but you pretty much have to look at your mods as $0 added to the value (and in some minds, they may actually detract from market value). Good luck in any case.

drrn...I found a site with free access to the auction results but the link no longer works.

Check out autotrader and ebay for comparisons. Good luck in your search.
