It should've been confirmed by now if 2021.

Last I heard it's 2022 but obviously US is a key motorsport market so PMNA will strive to be in the first wave...

Brembo brakes too. Can't say I'm gonna miss PFC.

Curious decision to not have rear diffuser in the new car...

Unless it's a GT3-R and not a Cup. Many things in the pics point either way. They are clever at disguising/leaving things off/putting parts on that wont be in the final version.

I don't see how this could be the GT3R for a couple of reasons. One being the radiator setup, it isn't a single/center radiator that the 991's run and this was part of the EVO kit on the 991.1 that converted to a hood exit/center radiator - wouldn't it be a step backwards to loose that cooling and downforce on the front? And the front fenders appear to utilize the same flares as the current 991 Cup's (a modified aluminum fender with adhesive flares) vs. the full carbon fender on the GT3R which is to allow a bigger wheel base on the front. I just envision this is missing too many elements of the GT3R to be the new car, so my vote goes to its the new Cup we will see in Supercup in Europe next year, US 2022.

I agree; many things are "fuzzy" about this car. The Brembos make me pause.

The 991.1 R (non-Evo) had a single center radiator. The Evo kit just added an optimized hood/vent exit and duct...along with the 4 canards, a new flywheel, steering rack and brake master cylinders.

I took a look at those photos and wonder why use gooseneck wing uprights on a spec-class cup car? Has to be a GT3-R.

Got it, could not remember but understood there were some changes on the 991.1 EVO kit in regards to the front/center radiator. That said, it does show there are some obvious changes coming to the new cars but agree its unclear yet.

Why does this designate it has to be the R? It appears all of the new GT models are going to this style of a wing upright. The 718 Clubsport already has these, the new RSR has these, and spy shots of the road going GT3 use the same style of uprights. So wouldnt it only be consistent that the Cup and GT3R get the same style?

spy photos are 2021 Cup car. The wing with the candy cane uprights is common practice at Porsche for all motorsport cars going forward.

Need to find out if USA cup can get these for 2021 or do they really need to wait until 2022?

I realize it’s a soy shot with camo but that is not a pretty race car.

Those are 991 Cup wheels and thinner rubber all around. It'd be pointless to build an R mule on Cup tire geometry: it'd be garbage in garbage out all around. Unless said mule's for testing a new motorsport A/C

Speaking of which, been told that this Cup will have A/C... just dunno if it's the trick item from the R, or the street item from the Clubsport products... upshot of the latter? Dual-zone climate control FTW...

I’ve heard the same from PMNA directly. Only 15 cars. All spoken for. Other series will wait for 2022. Guess my .2 will hold it’s value for another year...

15 cars reserved for the all new Carrera Cup North America. (5 more cars for double teams)
991.2 can run in the Carrera Cup North America as well.
