Tightening torque for this brake part
Hi,
When changing 997 cup front brake pads.
What is the torque for this brake pad retaining bolt that goes through both pads?
Also does it get red loctite?
I wasnt sure what it is called so I couldnt tell from the manual which was the right torque.
Thanks

The answer to that is "not too much" or you'll be using a Dremel to grind it off !! No Loctite....Get the one from Ed Demonspeed so it doesn't round off....Ask me how I know !!

i have in my notes 25ft lbs. Just tight enough as mentioned.
I've used the Demonspeed bolts for years, well worth the price for hassle minimization from frequent pad changes:

You'll also want to ensure you have these to save your pucks when they eventually separate from the pistons:

Although looks like Demon is making puck replacement and non-porsche seal kits which is nice. The rebuild kits from PMNA used to be like 200 with new pistons and seals, what are they now, at least 2x that price?

Unrelated question but I noticed you aren’t running the retaining springs for the pads. My cup doesn’t have them either. Did the cup cars come with this part and people just choose not to run it to make pad changes quicker/easier?
