Default 997 Cup with GT3R bodywork replacement radiator cover

Hi,

Ran the car for the first time this weekend after fully restoring it, was awesome.

A squirrel on the track took out my driver side radiator cover.

Does anyone know where I can get these?

It appears to be stainless steel painted black not aluminum.

I could have it custom made but would rather get one in stock if possible.

Pic of my car before restored with cover circled in yellow followed by a pic of the passenger side cover removed for a close up.

Thanks!

http://www.capitalcitymotorsports.us/grill-screens

Should be able to bend pack into shape, even without hitting a squirrel they will always bend in like that after use.

Thanks Mobonic (Shane?) for the awesome link - the screens are indeed from Gary at Capital. Working with him now.

REALLY appreciate your guidance!

"When I saw the grill screens that came stock on the 997 cup car I knew it was a must to make something better, made with 3/16 stainless steel frame with 3/8 stainless welded screen. They will withstand almost anything the race track can throw at it." (except Rocket J. Squirrel).

Good luck and hope to see you on track!

Norm,
1. Can you post any pics of the new car?
2. Do you still have the 993?

Hey there!

The KMR 993 GT2 Evo went to another PCA racer who had multiple race cars - great guy.

The pic above is indeed of my new car before I restored it so it looks new outside, inside, and mechanically.

Will post some new pics shortly...

What are you racing now?

Thanks,
Norm

I've been out of racing for several years. Life got in the way. I'm slowly starting to make my way back now. My father raced an '07 Cup for a few years and recently hung up his helmet (at 75!), so I'm going to start doing more track days and DE's with it.

I'm eager to see pics of the new car. I had seen it for sale and it will be great to see it back on track.

Thats great. I was out of racing for a bit as I got my pilots license and was flying...

Just got back into racing too.

Completely restored everything to like or better than new on the whole exterior, interior, and mechanical.

My usual go over the top, everything has to be perfect :-)

Look forward to seeing you at the track!

Any chance you'll attend the Road America race over Labor Day weekend?
