The very large piece of aluminum has been delivered. It is currently up on the bridge mill getting squared up. The very large 5 axis mill is currently down and waiting for a ball screw. That is anticipated to be in within the next week. There is one job in front of us on the 5 axis, but we are next as soon as that one comes off. He says this will run for 3 days solid. I am not sure if he meant lights out too, but we will find out when I go out there. (you know you are into machining if you know all of what I just said)
I have plans to go out there and have a visit with the machining company and do a video to post to all introducing you to the machine shop and Bob, the owner (and multiple cup car owner, including a couple of 996's).

Here is a video that we made at the manufacturing facility over the weekend. Our machining on the upper half of the mold ran from Saturday morning until Monday morning. We did the video on Saturday. The attached picture is from Monday. Now we need to machine the bottom half.
We do not have the correct material in yet. We are in a holding pattern until it comes in. Supply chain issues all over the place are slowing things down.
Meanwhile, we put some other material in just to see how the part is going to come out. There are a couple of sunken areas that did not fill right. The actual material will flow better, if not they will had a couple more runners to get the fill right.
The good news is that the shrink is right on. The hole positions and the size of the spoiler seems to be right on what we expected.
