Time to go from 4.1 997 gt3 to 996 cup?
I love my sharkwerks 4.1 gt3 but lately it only recieves track duty. I have a 991 targa for street fun so im think it is time to go cup car. I run 2:19 optimal time at sebring and 1:58 optimal at daytona on the 997 so i figure i would pick up a few seconds and have a more visceral experience in the 996 cup. The reason I'm leaning for the 996 cup is that it still has a manual transmission for fun factor. Not to say I won't have fun in a 998 or 991 cup, I know they are faster, I just think I will miss rowing the gears. Thoughts? Call me crazy but I'm also considering a nascar setup for road course duty....

I can't agree more, I came back to the 996 cup for the exact same reason. Love rowing the gears.
Still have a flappy paddle car but running the 996 cup is truly special.

I just bought another 996 cup for the same reason. Still will keep a 991.2 cup (just bought) but they are both fun.
PS I have another 996 cup I may sell if interested.
Thx

I went from a 4.0 997.1 GT3 to a 996 Cup a few years ago, and love it! I kept the 997, and even bought a Speedster for fun, but truly enjoy the visceral experience the 996 Cup provides out on the track. Do it, you’ll be happy that you did.

996 GT3 Almost Cup
It's time. I have a Speed Gallery built 996 GT3 track car. Since getting the GT4 and adapting it for track the 996 has been idle in the garage. Think it's time to get it freshened up and have some different old school analog fun. Bought the GT4 for the manual so that's my happy spot as well!
