Default Proud New Owner (997.2 Cup Car)

Hello,

I am the proud new owner of a 997.2 Cup Car. This is how the car currently looks. I plan to keep the wrap, but, remove the decals, if possible. I cannot even begin to explain the feeling. It's a mix of gratitude, being excited and feeling humbled and forturnate. Lifelong dream fullfilled. Looking forward to tracking this thing! Happy New Year!

Great looking car. Love the front, looks like holes.

Feel free to call or write if you have any questions.

Thanks

Ed

When I purchased mine it came with a business vinyl on top of a base graphics vinyl wrap. Good chance you can remove some of those decals and add your own. Congratulations! Nothing like a cup car.

Thank you! I never thought to look at the front as holes!

Thank you! I am going to try. I already had a banner with my law firm name and logo made. Will try to remove the existing business logos first since the wrap is growing on me more and more each day! I agree there is nothing like a cup car (or even a GT4 clubsport for that matter even though it is completely different). There is something about a factory race car!

Thank you! I've only sat in it once; however, my track support shop set up an opportunity for me to try a GT4 Clubsport and a 991 Cup Car. I was hooked...

Definitely. I track primarily with NASA. A bunch of good guys race their Cup Cars and GT4 Clubsports there. You? Is the car in your avatar the car I should look out for? I plan to continue with Time Trial for now until I get used the car and intend to have track support until I feel comfortable self-supporting the car. Self-supporting the car to me means changing brakes, wheels, fluid changes, bleeding brakes and other maintenance that does not require more knowledge than I have. If something above my pay grade goes wrong at the track, I open a beer, load the car on the trailer and still enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I too handle my cars maintenance at that same level, just did brakes on the SuperCup I pretty much reserve the use of the Becker VIP SuperCup to significant historic events, like Rennsport Reunion VI at Laguna Seca. My other race car gets more use in PCA and HSR racing. See you at the track and best of luck with a great ride.

Those are great pics of great looking cars! I should have clarified that I would only do the tasks that I identified if I aboslutely have to at the track. I otherwise take my cars to Orbit. Looking forward to seeing you at the track. Thank you!

I know the feeling. I can't wait! I need to freshen up the graphics on my new 7.1 cup. I also need to refresh the engine before I can go play with it. It's like getting the toy I wanted for Christmas but the batteries weren't included.

Many congratulations - you're going to love it. I've had my 997.2 for a year now, it is so much fun learning how to find lap time in this proper race car. Everyone has a sweet spot for the 997.2.

I could look at pictures of these cars all day. Any affiliation with Monster?

Great shot! Love the livery. I'm sure it will be a welcome challenge!

Nope, it came that way. I don't even like the stuff but my daughters like the livery so I'll freshen it up a bit and keep it for now.
