Default 996 Cup limited to 5000 rpm

First rollout of a 2004 Cup that has been sitting idle for a long time.
Car holds in at 5000 rpm. It's not the pit limiter, we changed fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs and ignition coils.

It keeps happening.

anybody an idea where else to look ?

Thanks a lot

Turned out out to be a fuel pump that was not connected correctly.
Unit was renewed and issue was finally solved.

Car was also put on a dyno and output was 380 hp on the wheels.
In the mean time everything is checked and she's ready to go again

We can go through the gears, all the way up to 6th, and drive constantly, just not exceeding 5000 rpm

Yes, same in all gears. not misfiring. Once hitting 5000 rpm, the cut-off is quite abrupt

Changed the sensors but it still happens. We gave up for now. Keep you posted on the cause when we find it

The crank sensor gap to flywheel is not correct! Adj the gap to spec and it should be fine

We had an issue similar to this with another customer that just got a 996 cup. Car ran great and strong, then died around 5K. Turned out to be the ECU was not installed properly and was loose and the grounding was not tight. Tighted everything up and car was back to 100%

Also first we tried all the fuel, ignition, sensors, blah,, blah blah stuff.
