996 RSR ENGINE
Hello
I have a Porsche 996 RSR engine that was ran in the Alex Job Racing Ruby Tuesday Riley Daytona Prototype around 2008. This engine is based on the 2004-2006 996 RSR engine. You can tell by the pictures that some parts like the carbon intake are specific to the DP. The hours on this engine are unknown so the engine must come apart for inspection. If you are a buyer I will take apart the engine and confirm that all internals are in good condition. If you have an original 996 RSR this can easily be made into a good spare engine for you.
I bought the engine as you see so I do not have detailed information. Most likely this is a 3.8 liter engine ( 102 mm bore), 2 ring pistons, 136mm long Titanium Pankl rods, 996 RSR camshafts, and a 76.4 mm crankshaft. Likely to have Titanium valves. These engines were good for around 550+ horsepower.
Price is $45,000

Hi Rodger:
That's a very interesting build. Except for the different intake design, it looks like the there is no oil tank, and the throttle control is different like on the original RSR. It seems the engine has late 2005 lightweight wiring harness. In the original RSR, this late model engine should have ECU mounted on the engine but not on this one. So it is going to be interesting to see how the engine can be fitted back. Can we at least have compression and leak down test result to know the rough condition?
