Default Any interest in an approved throttle blipper?

Hey there everyone,

So I recently spoke with one of the ALMS teams that we have a good relationship with and was able to secure the ability to offer the ALMS and IMSA approved throttle blipper to those of you who would like it.

This is a pretty slick part, that is being used by several of the largest teams in ALMS now.

Cost on this kit is $2100.00 plus shipping

Please let me know if I can be of any help with this. These should be available again within 7-10 days.

Happy to help,

How does it work? Is it similar to the Manthey device?

mklaskin, Yep I am pretty sure it is very similar to the Manthey kit. I have not been able to find pics of the Manthey kit to confirm this visually, but it may actually be the same part. I was not able to find any pricing on the Manthey kit either, do you happen to know what they are selling this kit for?

Do you have any experience with the Manthey kit, does it work nicely? Any issues that should be looked after?

Hope that this helps, and I look forward to hearing back from you.

manthey kit is 891euro not inclusive of tax, which doesnt apply if you buy out of the US though you do need import duties. it includes the gas pedal plate.
only issue with the manthey is that the bolt that attaches to the shifter is a bit crude. if you just pick up a nice low profile cap head it fits, looks and works much better.

Maybe I'm in the minority here but doesn't this take something away from driver ability determining outcome? What's next, an automatic clutch presser?

I'm not sure how I feel about this one..... I will get one if they are legal in PCA. My downshifts are good, but not consistently perfect, and in fact may have caused one of my spins at VIR.

Can't be anymore of a crutch than ABS.

And, it may save some wear and tear on the dogs. If it allowed a few more hours between rebuilds, I'd say it's money well spent.

If you have customer drivers or don't have it naturally in you since before - this could be a good investment.
I see these quite often in Cup Cars that are rented out.
