Default 996 Cup Rookie

It took me almost 6 months to find the right one, but finally it's sitting in my garage: a 2003, 996 GT3 Cup updated to 2005 spec with adjustable Sachs and Motec. Car was re-shelled end 2004 after Tim Harvey went for the British Carrera Cup in 2003 and 2004 with it.
2 year Britcar (British GT Championship) afterwards and from 2007 privately owned by one owner for track days and occasional racing. Car has been professionally stored for the last 3 years and did not run. Picked her up a couple of days ago and are now re-animating. Changed all fluids and filters last weekend. Unfortunately the dashboard shows no life at all. So it needs a bit of help here and there but soon she'll hit the track. Engine and gearbox have done 9 hours after rebuild by very respectable Porsche race team / specialist and car looks very clean and fresh.

Switched from a 996 GT3 street to this new adventure and love it already.
Took her for a quick drive on a deserted road after changing all the fluids and what a kick !!! man o man :-) Want to drive the car on a couple of trackdays first and then enter a porsche only race series here in The Netherlands.

The car came with a van full of spares like shifter cables, a left carbon door, lots of adjustable Sachs dampers, Bleu shafts, 15 extra wheels, full set of endurance PF brakes, pads and lots more.

Planning on selling most of these items to get some more money to really learn how to drive this car and to update chair, extinguisher, belt, trailer and proper tools (man, what are these long torque wrenches expensive)

So i'll be bugging you guys with some rookie questions the coming months for sure :-)

*photoshopped the wheels in this color as i am planning on getting a set painted like this.

Congratulations!
If the car has not been run in a couple of years make sure to check the heat exchanger as they can burst internally and mix oil and water. Cheap insurance just to put a new one on before you run it. Not sure why but if they are run consistently the exchanger does fine but if set up and not run then they've been known to fail when started and run again.

Thanks Guys

Will take her for a first test tomorrow, just to get it all warmed up and stretch her legs a bit.
Car needs some more work here and there so will take it easy tomorrow.

@ John: You're very welcome!
@ Glen: Good advice! How do i test the unit ?
@ Neil: Thanks! Car is not ready to drive full days Spa / Ring but tempting idea. PM me on the organizers and exact dates.

Throw a pressure tester on the reservoir overnight and look for pressure drop. If none then likely no problem but make sure to watch oil for milkiness and exhaust for coolant smell and a bit of smoke. If you see any of the above just change it, not fun but cheap and can be done with motor in car but much easier with motor dropped.
