964 Cup

Well, I am wrong again. I found an old Christophorus from 1992 and found this. I always thought the interior photo of the Rubystone car was
a M003 Clubsport but it is a Cup. And NO ABS switch. So now we have Brant's 1991 and this 1992 without one. And this car is brand new.
The article says it was driven from Weissach to the track.

Isn't the car in the article actually a N/GT with cup stickers? Maybe as a press car? The N/GT didn't have the switch but two seats. The steering wheel also says RS.
Just a thought...

I agree. But think of it this way, what is the ratio of value between an RSR and a Cup? If an RSR is now worth 740K (Bonhams recent sale) what is a Cup worth? We had this same conversation back in the 80's in trying to value 73 RSR's vs RS Lightweights. The RSR's were twice the value and still are. There are similarities here if you think about it.

My car has a cup VIN # but no ABS switch...Chritso table shows 1991 had no switch, my thought is they were probably added to the older cars and 1992 onwards came with them from the factory? Just a guess though.

I wondered the same thing. Also odd that the article spends quite a bit of time talking about the 18" Speedlines for 1992 and yet photograph this car with 17" Cups. The car in the article is probably a Cup, though. It appears the steering wheel was available in both airbag and non airbag and passenger seats were not that uncommon. I have seen several build sheets that list them, including mine. The ABS switch is still a mystery. Here is the build sheet for my car. How about that warning triangle and first aid kit?!

Just curious, how is the seat in the 90 different from this? Did the 90 use the same seat as the earlier Turbo Cups with the different material on the shoulder bolsters? I also thought all C2 Cups used the early
door cards and made the change with the RS Cups. Thanks for mentioning that. Always learning.......

Like the 944 Cup the '90 Porsche badge is located higher. The shoulder bolster pattern/material is visually the same as the 91/92 cars. The back of the seat is the give away in the picture,It has a speckled mat finish. '91/2 have a smooth black shell. I assume the 89 turbo Cup and 90 Cup used the same Recaro shell but different covers.

Olav worked for a 964 Cup team when racing. He also knows RSRs inside out.
Highly recommended for inspection and restoration of these cars.
Spotted damage to a GT3 I took over to him and previous 2 owners had no idea.
