996 too loud
Need to get to 88db for lime rock de events. First attempt was a system that my mechanic made. Nice and quiet, but NO top end, can't even get shift night to come on, removing a lot of hp! Any suggestions?

Maybe an angled turn down in conjunction with a SuperTrapp baffle?

88db???? step one, leave motor turned off. step two, make sure fan for climate control turn off unless you have silenced that electric motor.... now you have a car that can pass unless you have a rear spoiler coming down the hill in neutral then the air buffeting may still be too much. Honestly 996 NA motors are sooo loud anyway. I have no idea how you can get to that level. And that is what the locals are hoping...

996? 996 cup. I get by Limerock with the stock cup exhaust and angled turn downs with no baffles.

88 should be a static maximum i hope. Measured from behind the car standing still with maybe 4000 rpm. I have an M&M exhaust system that allows me to run 93 Db dynamic. dynamic is measured approximately 50 meter from the track, while driving bye. It also has a catalytic converter. M&M claims no power loss.

You want a quiet exhaust? Install the stock 996 GT3 RS exhaust. Ran it on my Cup car for 2 seasons. Thing sounded like a vacuum cleaner from the outside, while still being loud on the inside.
Mind you, the car runs a lot smoother and pulls stronger with the Cup exhaust installed (and let's not talk about the weight of all those mufflers ...)
