Default If no diesel in the USA

For those waiting on the diesel, if they don't bring it over what are you thinking instead?

I hear (from Car & Driver) that a 4 cylinder is coming as well. We have the 2.0T in our 2011 Q5. I wonder if it will be the same engine??? That is what I would want.

I think C&D's info is outdated, as I believe Porsche has stated recently that there are no plans (currently) to bring a 4 cylinder model to the US. They also seem to be stalling on any plans to bring a diesel model to the US.

I've read that the 4 cylinder is scrapped for the US.

April addition of Panorama confirms Diesel is coming to US, gives full specs and all details.
0-62 6.3sec, top speed 142.9.

My April Pano has yet to arrive. Is it going to be PDK or the 8-speed auto for the Macan Diesel?

I am hoping for PDK.

The plan is the plan until the plan needs to change. Right now, Porsche will be struggling to meet the demand for the Macan. Future years will bring new options.

If you MUST have a diesel Porsche THIS YEAR, then you can always consider buying one of these: www.porsche-diesel.com

Did they say WHEN? I don't think anyone doubts there will be a diesel in the US, it is more a matter of when. Initial reports were that it would come in 2015, but Porsche has not committed to that recently and isn't making any promises (unless the Panorama article says differently).

BTW, is that an old 50's Zephyr in your avatar?

PDK according to Panorama magazine. The mag also says "PCNA plans to introduce the 3.0 liter V6 single turbo diesel in late 2014."

Yes, mine arrived about a week ago. Looks very promising.

I will probably be driving far less mileage in a year or two when I look to replace the Touareg, so a Turbo or S may be the preferred option over the diesel.

I expect used Cayenne prices will drop once the Macan has been on sale for a while, which will also be a tempting option should I need the additional size and towing capacity.
