To be honest I would love to have a diesel instead of this gas powered version, my wife's Cayenne diesel is awesome, lots of torque and great fuel economy to boot.

my wife hates diesel.
Not enough gas stations in the city that offer diesel and she hates the smell of it at the pumps.

I had no choice but to get her gas.

My wife hated diesel too until we got the diesel Passat for her, now the only car s she will consider is diesel cars. the torque and fuel savings is addictive.

They got that much out of the 944T 28 years ago. It seems like Porsche could easily get closer to 300 HP out of a 4 banger today.

I would pay more for diesel too. The hard choice is between the s and diesel. Do I want performance or mpg?

Which competitor's base model CUV has a 350hp engine? The Macan S doesn't even have a 350hp engine.

Doesn't sound like they'll be selling it in the US anytime soon, anyway.

I'd think he was referring to the Audi SQ5 which is direct competition to the Macan S.

Ditto. I have a Touareg Exec TDI. Had a V8 Touareg prior to that. Bring the diesel Macan here and I'm all in. Timing would be ideal for me if it comes here in 2-3 years. The torque is great...all low-end where you really need it.
