Where can I find the schedule for this car I'd love to see it in person on the race track. Will it be part of a series, i.e. Rolex or ALMS? Love to see it here in Southern California Here is the video from the inside!!!

Besides the awesome performance and gas mileage, I'm in love with the design.

I can't wait until Wicked Motors comes out with a 996->918 conversion package. Lol.

More like a Boxster to 918 conversion kit. And it will be made of steel, and will cost $39999.00
The 918 is a very beautiful car - reminds me of how the Carrera GT stood out when it was new.

Even at $39,999.00 it's still cheaper than the "Weissach" option for the 918 at $83k. lol.

Anyone know of any higher priced option for any car?

Thanks to Porsche I think they started the high priced option trend for all the other manufacturers in that segment.

Let's see if Ferrari, McLaren etc...have something up their sleeve to beat the sub 7 minute lap time!!

There were rumours that the McLaren P1 did a 7:04 just a while back, but its not official.
So far the other numbers - peak power, top speed etc have been greater for the other cars, but The Ring just doesn't test these - it tests the handling as well, and those don't have numbers other than the lap time to pass a judgement

I guess the answer would be for us SoCal folks to see it in person would probably have to go to the rock store in Malibu to see Jay Leno pull up in one!

McLaren can only dream (for now) of being mentioned on Yahoo. Ferrari could give a rats ***, considering the LaFerrari is SOLD OUT. There is no substitute ;0)

McLaren was at the RING three times and could not do better than 7:04. rumor has it they went back recently and broke the record set by Porsche. As of yet NO official time from Woking. I think McLaren is waiting for SPORT AUTO to run the P1 at the ring and use that as official press release ;0)

I haven't looked into it enough (or checked Bridge & Gantry). But it's possible these "rumors" may come from McLaren telling certain "insiders" that they broke the record, based off of timed sections of the course. Though I'm sure they don't reveal there numbers are based off those methods. Lol. So it's possible/we'll see?

Nonetheless, we'll have to take McLaren's claim with a grain of salt, until someone can confirm they were there retesting on a full track. Meanwhile, Porsche's been reaping the benefits, sales and adulation of it's 918 release, Ring Run.

Good Luck to them.
