Default NEW DE Format

As Track registrar for my region I would like to let everyone know of a slight modification to the PCA HPDE format.

For our August DE we will have 3 run groups
Group 1: FLAT OUT: Must have track insurance and lap timer to be in this group. Must be willing to bin your car in order to set DE lap record and potentially drive a GT3 faster than a SPB
Group 2: SLOW AND SCARED: This group is too scared to go flat out because they don't have track insurance or your car is not fast enough to gap a supercar in a straight line..
Group 3: LAP TIMER ONLY: This group can drive at up to 8/10's because they do have a lap timer but CAN NOT drive any harder because they do not have insurance so MUST adjust their driving style accordingly.
Swedish Fish will be available.

Please look for an email with updated run groups shortly and if you plan to Move from SLOW AND SCARED to LAP TIMER ONLY or FLAT OUT you will need to provide proof of lap timers and insurance.

That is all.

Oh my! Where do I start? Where does this put the vintage drivers without insurance that are not going fast enough for lap timers to matter?

In "certain" cases a lap timer will be provided for you as a check out ride... We don't care how you do it, just show us the lap time and you can be promoted...

What if your lap timer is an hour glass?

HWFMR tried using egg timers, but we always ran out of sand before we ran out of lap...
