All I'm saying is that we have a month and a lot can change in a month. Everyone should stay safe and healthy but cancelling now smacks of panic.
Bottom line - if this is still going on in another month we have bigger issues than a club race.

At CVR we are evaluating our events daily and will release updates as the situation evolves.
Our President released this statement
==============================
The CVR Board of Directors has been monitoring closely the rapidly-evolving developments of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The board’s highest priority is the health, safety and well-being of CVR members, their families and our sponsors. Its initial plan of action is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Connecticut State Department of Public Health, Governor Lamont’s Executive Order of March 14, 2020 and related health authorities who have described the dangers of the virus and have declared the urgency with which actions should be taken to minimize its transmission.
The board’s immediate focus is on CVR events scheduled to take place in April. It will continue to monitor developments and will communicate to club members in a timely manner the status of events scheduled for May and thereafter. Decisions on events will be based on several criteria, including the anticipated physical distance among participants, whether the event is indoors or outdoors and the availability of accommodations that are conducive to hygiene etiquette and practice.
The following events will be postponed indefinitely:
• Bear Mountain Coffee Run on April 4
• Member Activity Sampler on April 11
• Monthly Meeting at Fairfield County Motorsports and Sloan Motorcars on April 14
• Spring Kickoff at Redline Restorations on April 17
The following events will proceed as scheduled, with modifications to ensure compliance with public health recommendations and associated state mandates:
• DE at Lime Rock Park on April 13
• Rally Academy on April 19
• DE at Lime Rock Park on April 23
• Club Race at Lime Rock Park on April 24 and 25
The meeting of the CVR Board of Directors on April 6 will be convened via teleconference.
All of us are living through a unique crisis that is evolving at a rapid pace. Club officials are taking action that will minimize risks to the health of CVR members, their families and our sponsors, while also supporting the nationwide goal to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus Disease.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me at cvrpresident@cvrpca.org
Be safe,
Phil Capella, President
Connecticut Valley Region / Porsche Club of America

No one wants the race to happen more then me . Unfortunately things are will only get worse each day for probably at the very least 1-3 months. I cant see the event happening . I also think it wont be up to us or PCA the state and federal governments are going mandate it.
My prediction is we have a mandated federal quarantine for at least 2-3 weeks coming. I desperately hope I am 100% wrong

Lime Rock Race
Seems like the only possible decision driven the gravity of the situation and the CT Governor’s executive orders. I was looking forward to seeing everyone. One thing I have learned is that there will always be another race...

BAM - cancelled. Even though this is the right decision it sucks and represents the new reality we are living in.

I could see myself racing but the reality is different.
Bummed - home track and favorite race of the year.
