Bitter loss for Porsche in GTLM but some great racing. Mario Farnbacher's drive in the closing stages incredible. Who knew you could pass on the outside in the esses?

Farnbacher had a crazy good drive up to the finish but he was aided by Tandy's Uber aggressive move chasing De Phillippi... Sellers got hosed on that last lap!

The bad luck of the Porsche factory team this year is unimaginable. They had legit chances to win the last three races and either did something stupid (pit lane collision between their two cars), Bamber not getting the call to pit for rain tires at Road America then crashing at the end of the front stretch, or had the cut tire Saturday.

Did Porsche do something silly to incur a cut tire? I didn't watch the whole race.

Apparently Tandy aimed for every piece of carbon debris he could find because he wanted the Corvette to win.... This despite Porsche dominating qualifying and the majority of the race up until the last few laps.

Sadly, I could see it coming. I was even counting down the minutes to see their next epic fail... and they didn’t disappoint. This race summed up the season quite nicely since the break.
Fortunately, there was better results seen in the WEC 6hr SPA race. While Porsche puts its tail between their legs & bails on IMSA.
Looking forward to Le Mans mid-September.
