Except for skeeler blocking me during S1 in his Cayman, was a fun race weekend (solved the Cayman problem in subsequent races by starting in the back). Oh, and crashing my car from a delaminated R7 in P1...
Nord Stern never disappoints. Everyone there was wonderful. So pleasant, so nice. Great fun, good company. Worth the long haul to Minnesota.
And a fun bonus, Sunday morning I got to ride along with Leh Keen in his red RSR flat thru t1. Thanks Leh.

Glad you had fun. I saw a few pieces of the tire delamination as I came down the strait. Thanks for bidding in the charity auction.

Had a great weekend. Very unique track to race on. My only issue is how dirty the track is in the back section. I lost both headlamps sandblasted all the paint off my lower front bumper and pitted the lexan windshield.

I had a great time racing with everyone at Brainerd. 4000 mile round trip across this beautiful country of ours.

As my SPB is one of the slowest cars out there, I really appreciated the room and patience of the zoomies while I was navigating my way around the ‘new to me’ track. Turn 1 is a hoot full throttle, and my little car loved it. Turn 2 was a bit of a pucker; never could quite stay flat and not drift up into the marbles. Not knowing the track much, I decided the reward didn’t match the risk, so took it easy there. Driving the back section from Turn 8 to Turn 10 felt like driving through a Walmart parking lot. All in all, great track. Got to within a second of the SPB track record. 90 minute enduro was fun, though I wish the other Boxsters would have run. I’m used to racing with 15 - 20 other SPBs in a race out here on the left coast. Didn’t have a crew with me so couldn’t refuel during the pit stop. Just filled it up and ran enduro pace, ~2 seconds off normal race pace. Finished with 1/8 tank, so plenty of gas.

Thanks for a great weekend, Nordstern!

It was indeed a great race weekend and other than Clarke's rather spectacular tire failure quite uneventful. I was very impressed with the coexistence on track with the massive speed differentials. Great BBQ by the way too!

Not intentional by any means, I'll stay home if that helps.

Glad you are ok and safe, that was a tough one for sure! Very unfortunate.

Good lord, thought my 2500 mile round trip was far.
T1 flat takes some nerve for sure.
Drag strip + road course + parking lot = Brainerd

No need to stay home. Room for everyone.
Caymans are an issue for our slower 911Cup cars at every track. That's just multi class racing.
(btw, if you point us by just once, we will be gone).

I'm fine. When tire blows you're just a passenger. Sitting on the track dead stopped in a cloud of smoke facing the wrong way waiting for all the cars and then getting a head on sucks. Might have totalled my car. It wrinkled the front of the tub about 8". Extra bars in the footwell saved my feet (thank you Piper for building right the cage). Hope to have it fixed for Sebring 2022. Again, I'm completely fine and was out in the backup next session.

Any diagnosis on the cause of the blowout? Puncture, or unknown tire failure?

Car is totalled. Bought another one and getting a Piper cage built now. Will transfer over my seat, shocks, engine and trans.
Hope to have it ready for Road America.

PS that was an awesome race car. It had been a pca race car for almost 20 years. I'll miss it.
