Recommendations for a rental truck for towing?
My tow vehicle is in the shop a week now, and it’s unclear it will be ready for an event early next week. Anyone have recommendations for renting a tow vehicle? Uhaul or Penske? Or rent a pickup? Trailer is an enclosed, probably 7000 lbs loaded up. Thanks …..

Yup enterprise.
My trans chit the bed on my F-150 about a month ago. 600 miles OUT of warranty, Ford is gonna make good on it, but they're taking their time.
While waiting on Ford to put the new one in, I rented an F-150 on a monthly basis ($2000) from Enterprise about 2 weeks ago. Have been towing to the track with it since and might even keep it for an extra month if Ford doesn't have mine ready in 2 weeks.
The weekly rate was about $825. The monthly rate was $2000.
Kind of a no brainer..
Good luck.

Enterprise Commercial rents 3/4 ton diesels, regular Enterprise only has 1/2 ton pick ups. Big diff in towing and stopping capability. Been using them for years. Like getting an almost new truck every time I go to the track.

PVRentals in the Houston area that rents diesel F250s equipped to tow. If your house was in the right place, the rental fee for a 2 day TWS weekend (175 mi round trip) was only about $250 plus fuel. We had a guy who did this, he owned the car, owned the trailer, and rented the truck each track weekend. Didn't work if the rental place wasn't on the way to the track due to mileage. Considering the cost of a new Power Stroke equipped F-250, it was a sweet deal and no need to store the truck.
PV is local to Houston - may be worth checking independents in your area.

Be careful! "Regular" Enterprise car rental places have pick-ups, vans etc.. All capable of towing HOWEVER, towing is not permitted pursuant to the language in the contract. If something happens, and the chit hits the fan, the least of your concerns will be physical damage.........injuries, medial etc., could be a hugely expensive surprise ( don't ask me about medical expenses - thankfully not crash related just "health" issues).
As the others have said, Enterprise Commercial, which rents 3/4 ton pick-ups, box trucks, etc., specifically allow towing with an additional cost, of course, you can usually negotiate mileage, etc. Their trucks are usually new or newer, and totally do the trick. The only caveat, reserve one early on, last year, headed to the Glen, called for a truck, here, and Waterbury CT, "sorry, none available")..........had to scramble to get out there . GL

Flew into Salt Lake to pull a car back to MA in February a couple years ago. Had tow hitch FedExed to hotel there (it must weigh 25 + lbs, they hated that package). Reserved a truck with Enterprise, through commercial NOT retail website. Gayle Brock had my Aerovault there as arranged (10 + to them!), Uber to Enterprise 5 am, got my almost brand new F250. 3 days to home, everything was 100%, $600 for the rental. Would give Enterprise a 10 for the rental (and I bought a F150 to reface a Toyota as a result).

I did Enterprise commercial for my last race and it was great, Definitely try to get a diesel as I ended up with a F250 Super Duty with a base gas engine. I was losing lots of battles to semis up inclines on the highway. The other thing is to give yourself some time to make any adjustments to your trailer set up. Hitch receiver heights aren’t always going to match what you have for your trailer.

Check out turo.com. Some owners are OK with Towing.
Here is an example. https://turo.com/us/en/truck-rental/...rchId=4exmnnWD
